Busy, But Still Crafting...

Wow!  This has been a busy week thus far.  But I did find time to spend in my craft room anyway.  This card design was inspired by Mojo Monday's sketch this week.  I started with cream cardstock and layered on a panel of brown, added a square of pretty patterned paper edged on the left with a strip of cream which I cut with some edging scissors and stamped lightly with SU Always Artichoke  using a foliage rubber stamp from my stash.  I then cut a cream circle with my silhouette and inked the edge with avocado.  On this I glued a 'trista tree' from my silhouette library just because I love to use my silhouette and I love to do something a little different sometimes.  I cut out the tag from brown and green cardstock and layered them, then I stamped the background with the same stamp I used on the cream edge.  I stamped 'Miss You' over this in pitch black Adirondack pigment ink.    I punched out some tiny little flowers from the same patterned paper and gave them green pearl centers then glued them to the tag.  The circle with the tree and the tag are put on with dimensional foam adhesives.  And there you have it.

Here is the sketch.

Here is the card I came up with.

I want to enter this card into Mojo Monday's Sketch challenge #235 and The ABC Design Team's Anything goes challenge.

Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you have a great Easter holiday!

Happy Birthday Canary

Mojo Monday's sketch challenge #233 this week really was a challenge for me.  I am a bit under the weather and am not quite on top of things.  However, I am in need of some birthday cards, especially for guys, so I drug myself out of my recliner and over to my crafting desk.  I had some of these little bird stamps and have been practicing with coloring and cutting them out.  For this sketch I chose cream colored card stock for the base and added some decorative papers, a piece of twine and a stamped sentiment.  This particular little yellow bird just seemed to fit with everything else here.

I don't feel like this is the best card I've designed, but I never fail to learn from each challenge I enter.  And that's what I love about it all.

Thinking of You

Mojo Monday had such a neat sketch for their challenge this week that I wanted to use the sketch again.  I started with craft cardstock and added some pretty patterned paper from my stash.  A bit of turquoise grosgrain ribbon was chosen to complement the colors and the bluebird.  I wanted my bird to have some sunshine, so I chose some orange paper for the semicircle.  A sweet orange fabric flower and some matching stick on gems completed this card nicely.  The bird is a stamped image that I colored with watercolor markers and cut out.  I then attached him with dimensional adhesive.  I am entering this card into the Mojo Monday sketch challenge  #231.

Hello!

Hi all!  It's been a busy few days and tonight it's back to work for a couple, so wanted to get this cute little card posted forthwith.  I'm still lovin my 'Lady Couture' stack and added some patterns from a Colorbok wedding stack I bought some time ago.  The base of this card is cream card stock layered with black card stock.  I added a piece of lace ribbon and some stick-on gems.  The tiny flowers are punched and embellished with tiny gems for centers.  The sentiment is stamped on.

I notice that many blogs include specifics about where their components come from as far as what company makes this or that.  Most of my supplies were purchased over a period of several years and I do not have that information anymore.  I never thought to save it, so my apologies for that.  I am trying to keep up on that end of things more as I buy new things.

I would like to enter this card in the Mojo Monday challenge #231.
