Crafters Block?
I've been trying so hard to envision a new card creation today. But it seems I have 'crafters block' if there is such a thing. It's been a busy week at our house and I've had to deal with a nasty virus in the midst of it all. I'm not sure I'm completely over it yet. I have managed to make a couple of cards for some family birthdays coming up, but that's it.
On the brighter side, I was able to purchase some alphabet punches that I think are going to be awesome. I am not very skilled with stamps, so I try to make up for it with other embellishments. These punches are going to come in very handy!
My days off for this week are coming to an end. Tonight I go back to work and will have very little time for anything else. Perhaps some inspiration will come to me during that time and I will be back in my groove by the beginning of the week.
Feb. 1st was my grand-daughter Charity's 13th birthday. Here is the card I made for her. I wanted sparkle and shine in her favorite colors. This is what I came up with. I'm trying some new things, such as the pennants. It's a little rough, but my grandkids are very forgiving if I don't get it perfect. (Grandkids are great that way.)
I am hoping that the challenges I am entering will help me improve my cardmaking in so many ways. Sometimes when I look at the great talent of other card crafters I think I am out of my league. But I know that practice makes all the difference in the world. So I will keep practicing and looking for new inspiration. Maybe someday I'll even master the art of stamping and coloring in. I absolutely adore the look obtained with copic markers in the hand of a talented artist!
