Anything Goes

Creative Inspirations and Simon Says challenges this week are entitled 'Anything Goes'.  So, OK.  That's my cue to design something different.  Something that is kind of  'out of the box' so to speak.  I wanted a card that would be unique, so I ransacked my stash for several items that I have been wanting to experiment with.  First I pulled out some craft card stock to use as the base of the card.  Something different?  OK, I'll make it a gate-fold card.  Next my eyes fell on some adhesive paper stacks in oranges and turquoises.    I then began looking through a new stack of scrapbook papers called 'Lady Couture' that had some awesome images of ladies that I wanted to cut out and use on something.  As I looked through these papers I also came across some flower images that looked like they may have some potential, so I cut out some of them as well.  Yes, it was kind of tedious cutting these out by hand, but the end result was very satisfying to me.  I had some small orange silk flowers that I had been saving for something special and I pulled them out now.

The silk flowers were mounted to the left front of the card with a card stock banner placed beneath them that reads 'Lovely'.  My cut out lady was put on the right front.  The cut out flowers were mounted on the inside of the card and a simple sentiment 'Be Yourself' was computer generated on adhesive paper and added to the right inside flap.  All of the card stock cut outs are mounted with dimensional adhesive.  A little bling in the way of adhesive jewels was added to the silk flower centers and to my lady's neckline.  I also gave her a satin belt and added a satin ribbon to tie the card closed.

This card will be perfect to encourage a friend who might be a bit down on themselves.    Bright, cheery and different.  Mission accomplished!
